Reading the lines of your palm may not be as easy and simple a job as it seems. Only with sound knowledge of palmistry can one read and interpret a palm successfully. To begin with, there are three essential lines on the palm which are of prime importance in Chiromancy. These are namely the head line, the heart line and the life line. Along with these lines, knowledge about the mounts, size of the palm and fingers etc are also important for producing accurate readings.

To start with, one should select between the right and left palm for the purpose of reading. The right palm is the dominant or active palm while the left is the passive palm for a right handed individual. Similarly for a left hander, the left palm is the active palm while the right is its passive counterpart. For insight into one’s career, work life, body language presentability and personality, the active hand should be read. The passive hand reflects the individual’s dreams, aspirations, emotional struggles and personal relationships.

To start with, cup your hands a little and place it under bright line to make all the lines clearly visible. It should be remembered that dull and faintly visible lines symbolize those areas and aspects of life which need to be attended to and developed. Deep and prominent lines on the contrary symbolize the heightened strength and maturity of the characteristics associated with the line.

The Heart Line

It is the topmost line on the palm that originates from the bottom of the index or middle finger and extends till the little finger. It depicts a person’s love life, emotional stability and sensitivity. To read the line, one needs to first observe the length, incline and the edges of the line. If the heart line begins from below the index finger it indicates a happy and harmonious love life. If the line begins from underneath the middle finger, it makes the individual selfish in love. Finally, if the line begins from between these two fingers, it makes the individual give away their heart easily. A short line indicates that physical intimacy and sexual aspects of the relationship are more important than romance and mental compatibility for the individual. The straightness of the line indicates emotional balance. A straight line makes the individual more rational and stable while a curved line makes the person more emotional and sensitive.

The Head Line

This line is located in the middle of the palm right below the heart line stretches across the palm. The length of the head line depicts the intelligence, mental attitude and knowledge of in person. A long head line indicates superior intellectual prowess while a shorter lines indicates more physical strength than of mental ability in the individual. The curviness of the line is an indicator of the thought process of the person. A longer headline depicts concise thinking, creativity and higher focus in the individual. A curved head line implies lower degree of attentiveness in the individual. If the line splits into two, it indicates gullibility. The individual is likely to get easily influenced by others and may dodge their own opinions and perspectives, frequently. Further, broken spots on the line indicate indecisiveness and inconsistency.
The Life Line

The life line 

The life line is placed below the heart and the head line where it originates from the edge of the palm and extends in the downwards direction, towards the base of the palm. The length of the life line is believed to depict the length or life span of the person while depth and prominence of the line is associated with one’s state of health. Deep heart line indicates good health and illness free life while dull and faint life line symbolizes weak health and an illness prone life. When ample of lines appear across the life line, they depict the individual’s vibrancy, vitality and enthusiasm towards life. Breaks in the life line are indicative of sudden and drastic changes and events in life which can be both negative and positive.

The Fate Line

Apart from these primarily lines, the fate line or the line of destiny is also visible on the palm. This line may extend from the base of the palm vertically across till the bottom of the middle finger. It determines the social status, humanitarian attitude, fame and success in life for an individual. This line may not be present on the palm too for certain people indicating a directionless, ambitionless and chaotic life. The deeper, more consistent and longer the line, the more successful is the person.
